The Basant Festival, a centuries-old tradition celebrating spring with vibrant kite flying, is officially returning to Lahore under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

The festival will be "completely safe, regulated, and strictly monitored" under the Punjab Kite Flying Ordinance, 2025.

Compliant with the Punjab Regulation of Kite Flying Ordinance 2025. To promote a safe and enjoyable Basant for everyone, please ensure that the following rules and safety guidelines are strictly observed.

Only kite materials and strings approved under Schedule-I of the Punjab Kite Flying Ordinance 2025 are permitted.

Registration is done through an online application submitted to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the relevant district.
